Programming by Voice

These notes are from a talk which I gave to the Boston Voice-Users group on July 14, 1998. I have been hoping to modify these notes to include some of the comments I made during the lecture in places where the notes are sketchy. However, the doesn't seem to be any chance of my getting around to that anytime soon. Hopefully, the raw notes are better than nothing.

The notes are somewhat specific to DragonDictate, though some of the general concepts are still applicable. The notation used in the examples is that of DragonDictate, where

$ [dollar sign]

denotes a word with written form "$" and spoken form "dollar sign".

  1. Introduction
  2. What's in a Name?
  3. Talking to Dragons
  4. Tools for Programming by Voice
